ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity

The ACB was established in 2005 by the ASEAN Member States (AMS) as a response to biodiversity loss in the region. The ACB supports and coordinates the implementation of activities in the ASEAN that lead to the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity for the benefit of the region and its people.

One of the ACB’s flagship initiatives is the ASEAN Flyway Network (AFN), a regional effort for the protection and conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. The AFN is being led by the ACB and Singapore, with support from the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund and from New Zealand through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
