The side-event is to report the meeting “Actions and measures for wildlife in response to the HPAI panzootic” on 26 June 2025, during the 11th International Symposium on Avian Influenza. We expect input from EAAF partners (countries and NGOs) on follow-up actions and plans to prevent threats to wild birds (particularly threatened species) in the EAAF countries, and building a good global network on sharing of information on HPAI.

Alignment with the EAAFP Strategic Plan (2019–2028)

As HPAI has become a serious threat to wild birds (particularly waterbirds and seabirds) globally since 2020, this meeting is related to all five objectives of the Strategic Plan.
