As the Taehwa River in Ulsan in the Republic of Korea gains international recognition as an important habitat for migratory birds, the “EAAFP Ulsan Corporate Champion Programme” will be held free of charge at the Ulsan Wildlife Rescue Centre from 30 November to 1 December 2025.
Co-hosted by the East Asian–Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and Ulsan Metropolitan City, the event will bring together local companies such as Kyungdong City Gas, S-OIL, and Hyundai Motor Company, along with community members. Over the two days, the event—organised by Tweet Tweet and the EAAFP Foundation—will feature a variety of programmes, including education on bird food resources, birdwatching activities, and wildlife rescue training, all designed to promote the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats.
Designated as an EAA Flyway Network Site in 2021, the Taehwa River serves as a crucial stopover point for migratory waterbirds travelling from Alaska to New Zealand. This programme aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting migratory bird habitats and to present a model for ecosystem conservation through collaboration between the local community and businesses.
Participants will receive a small commemorative gift, and a special lunch box will be provided on the first day of the event. Attendees can choose to participate for both days or a single day upon registration.
Ulsan continues to strengthen its role as a centre for international cooperation in migratory bird protection, enhancing sustainable ecological conservation through community engagement and corporate partnership programmes.
