Read in English by EAAFP Secretariat 2015年8月17日、環境省 自然環境局野生生物課より辻田香織 湿地保全専門官が東アジア・オーストラリア地域フライウェイパートナーシップ事務局を訪問されました。この機会に、日本の国内パートナーシップについての発表を行っていただきました。概要は次の通りです。 日本には、32の東アジア・オーストラリア地域渡り性水鳥重要生息地ネットワーク参加地があります。その数は、フライウェイパートナーシップ参加国の中で最多です。日本では、それぞれの参加地は、その参加地が支えている水鳥の種類により、ガンカモ類、シギ・チドリ類、ツル類を対象とする国内ネットワークのいずれか、またはそのいくつかに属しています。 それぞれのネットワークではコーディネーターが指名されており、コーディネーターはニュースレターの発行などを通じて、情報共有や保全活動を促進しています。 また、環境省では、毎年ないし2年に一度、いずれかのネットワークを対象に、ネットワーク交流会を開いています。交流会には、専門家、ネットワーク参加地の管理者、参加地が位置する自治体の職員、湿地センターのスタッフ、関連NGOなどが集まり、課題や経験、情報の共有を行い、ネットワークの強化につながっています。費用は、日本国環境省が負担しています。 専門家やネットワーク参加地の管理者、関係団体等の国内交流のためのこのような仕組みは、国レベルでのEAAFPの目的の達成において重要な役割を担っています。また、環境省では、ネットワーク参加地の管理に寄与している地元NGOのリストを作成し、参加地のより効果的な保全に向けてそれらのNGOとの連携強化を図ろうとしているところです。 なお、辻田専門官は、事務局の所在地インチョン市周辺の主要な水鳥の生息地も視察されました。 発表のスライドはこちらからご覧いただけます。
