SMALL GRANT FUND FOR WORKING GROUPS AND TASK FORCES

The EAAFP Small Grant Fund for Working Groups and Task Forces supports projects, such as research, monitoring, site management, technology, training, and CEPA activities, that contribute to the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats in line with the EAAFP Strategic Plan 2019-2028.

The Fund offers two types of support:

- grants of up to 5,000 USD for projects led by Working Groups or Task Forces and their members that address the Strategic Plan’s Key Result Areas; and

- grants of up to 1,000 USD to support members in presenting their work (e.g. presentations, papers, or posters) at conferences or similar events.

The Secretariat encourages the use of the Small Grant Fund as contribution to a larger project supported by co-financing from other sources. Each year, 40,000 USD is allocated to the Small Grant Fund for Working Groups and Task Forces from the EAAFP Secretariat’s activity budget. Therefore, not all applications can be funded. Grants which are awarded are on the strict understanding that funds will be exempt from institutional administration charges (unless Partner government law so requires).

ELIGIBILITY

Only members of EAAFP Working Groups and Task Forces are eligible to apply for the Small Grant Fund. Applicants who are unsure about their membership status are encouraged to contact the relevant Working Group or Task Force leads before preparing their proposal.

Proposals should focus on EAAFP priority species, habitats, regions, emerging threats, or other objectives outlined in the EAAFP Strategic Plan 2019-2028. They must also clearly demonstrate how the proposed project contributes to the Strategic Plan’s Key Result Areas (KRAs).
